Discover Krabi by Hire Car
Krabi is the capital of the province of the same name in southern Thailand.
The landscape here is characterized by karst formations with steeply rising rocks and cliffs and gorgeous beaches along the Andaman coast.
Krabi itself is a small, cosy, yet bustling town. Its location on the Mae Nam Krabi River gives the town a special flair.
Sights in Krabi
There are markets around the ferry piers directly on the river, as well as on the northern edge of the city centre, where the region’s specialities are on sale.
In addition to the delights of Krabi itself, the town makes a great base for exploring the surrounding area.
Leisure activities in Krabi
In addition to the much-visited islands such as Ko Lanta in the south and Ko Phi Phi in the west, which are accessed by boat from Krabi, many other destinations are easily accessible by hire car. North of the city you can admire the limestone massifs Khao Khanap Nam in the river.
For nature lovers, trips to Khao Phanom Bencha National Park, a near-pristine rainforest area with many waterfalls, or Than Bokkharani National Park with lotus ponds, mangroves and small islands are recommended.
A must for those interested in culture is Wat Tham Seua (Tiger Cave Temple) 8 km north of Krabi. A particular challenge here is climbing the 1200+ steps that lead to the top of a 600m limestone hill.
With your own vehicle, you can also discover many hidden beaches along the Andaman coast.
